Bike Lhasa To Kathmandu 1100km through Tibet

26 May to 18 June 2010 we will ride more than 1,100 km through Tibet on crushed stone roads and over spectacular mountain passes. The high point of the journey comes when we arrive at the monastery of Rongbuk and see Mount Everest Base Camp (5200m). This is the only trip in the world where you can visit Everest Base Camp with a bicycle! It was here on the North Face that Reinhold Messner began his successful solo ascent of Everest in 1980.

The singletrack with the best view

We Climbed up to 5200m via 42 switchbacks, where we were rewarded by a
view of everest and her friends again, then wait for it.. The
singletrack with probably the best view in the world dropping down to
4200m staring everest in the eye the whole track, it was fast and me
and Carine let the way naturally being singletrack minded :) it
couldn't believe how luckly we were, it felt like a dream. Here is my
bike at the bottom with a HUGE grin!!

Now this just sounds like too much fun!! Words like "Awesome" would not do any justice :-) . Keep up the good work! I have no idea how one could drop and climb kilometers in a matter of a day or two. Way too cool, and this all with that special piece of rock looking down at you :-)
